![]() ![]() To many people, milk is just a white fluid that has the look and texture of water but feels a little "thicker". What is the breakdown/density of cow’s milk? Additionally, the whole conundrum of the US and the Imperial Gallon makes the simple question of "what is the weight of a gallon of milk" so complicated. What makes the question of density per unit of weight tricky, is the fact density changes depending on the temperature and pressure. Below you can see the density equation and the table with Milk Density values, including those for whole, semi-skimmed, and skimmed milk, depending on temperature. Glass Melt Density Calculation by Ghiorso et al.ĭetailed references of the density model source data taken from the SciGlass database and information system are as follows below:Ī. Seward: "Density and thermal expansion calculation of silicate glass melts from 1000☌ to 1400☌" Phys. Glass melt density and thermal expansion calculation program, based on Excel (150 kB) The prediction of density as a function of temperature made it possible to estimate the coefficient of thermal expansion of glass melts to within 20-40% error with a 95% level confidence. The 95% confidence interval of the mean model prediction on the density scale in g/cm³ was 0.5-3%, depending on the composition of interest. A glass density model based on multiple regression was developed. The analysis was founded on all 140-260 available glass density values in the SciGlass information system for glasses containing more than 40 mol% silica, less than 40 mol% boron oxide, varying amounts of Al 2O 3, Li 2O, Na 2O, K 2O, MgO, CaO, PbO, and minor components. The relation between the chemical composition and the density of silicate glass melts at temperatures of 1000☌ to 1400☌ was analyzed statistically.
